The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a Leave Replacement Assistant Director of Student Support Services.

ASSIGNMENT: Student Support Services; Approximate leave dates 8/3/2026 - 10/27/2026.

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Student Support Services supports district leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Niskayuna School District’s Student Support Services programs.  The goal is to plan and maintain a sound, well-articulated Student Support Services program by working with pupils, teachers, administrators, and parents.  This position has a specific scope of responsibility in evaluating Student Support Services programming to support the District, the Assistant Superintendent and Directors of Student Support Services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers student support services programs within the district and with BOCES, including summer school.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure the effective implementation of federal and state regulations related to IDEA and supporting students with disabilities.
  • Supervises and evaluates student support services staff in conjunction with principals.
  • Assists in chairing the Committee on Pre-School Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE) meeting, as assigned.
  • Support the supervision and facilitation of professional learning for related service providers such as: Speech, OT, PT, TVI, O&M, Assistive technology as well as support staff, where applicable.
  • Provides coaching and professional development on regulations and instructional practices.
$475.00 per day
