Job Description

The Niskayuna CSD has anticipated (15) openings for Teaching Assistants for the 2021 Special Education Summer Program from July 5, 2021 through August 13, 2021.

POSITIONS: 

• Life Skills Grades 6-8
• Life Skills Grades 9-12
• Community Transition Program Grades 12+

SCHEDULE/HOURS: Monday through Friday, 30 hours per week

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred.  Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a substitute TA (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained.  Minimum requirements for certification include: 

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• NYS Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills Test
• Completion of workshops in:  Child Abuse Identification; School Violence; and Dignity for All Students (DASA)
