Job Description

The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year.

ASSIGNMENT: Districtwide; Lead TCIS Coach/Coordinator for the District’s TCIS training program.

TCIS Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services and the lead administrator for TCIS. This position works collaboratively with the TCIS leadership team, acting as the lead TCIS coach/trainer for the district.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for assisting in the implementation of all TCIS training efforts and objectives.
• Maintains master TCIS training records for the district.
• Posts in-service training opportunities and assists the lead administrator with in-service certificates and certificate distribution.
• Works with district and building TCIS trainers to inform staff of training recertification due dates and accurately records completed training throughout the year.
• Works directly with district and building TCIS trainers to plan and implement training opportunities for staff interested in obtaining certification.
• Supports trained staff by helping them access and complete refreshers and recertification training throughout the year in order to maintain certification. 
• Partners with the lead administrator to organize and schedule summer training sessions for initial training and recertifications.
• Coordinator will also be expected to support training summer session(s) as needed.
• Assists the lead administrator in reviewing district policy and emergency intervention forms submitted to the directors of student support services.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the lead administrator.

 

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must be a current NYS certificated Niskayuna staff member and hold current and updated Cornell TCIS Train the Trainer certification. Minimum of 2–3 years as a TCIS trainer required.
