Job Description

The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a probationary track Teaching Assistant.

ASSIGNMENT: Special Education; 1:1; 10 months per year; 32.50 hours per week.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum.

Job Qualifications

New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred.  Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a Substitute Teaching Assistant (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained.  Minimum requirements for certification include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• New York State Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS) test
• Completion of workshops in: Child Abuse Identification, School Violence, and Dignity for All Students (DASA)
