Job Description

The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for an  Aquatics Coordinator.

ASSIGNMENT: Niskayuna HS; 12 months per year; .5 FTE;

GENERAL INFORMATION: This position exists in a school district and involves responsibility for overall coordination of the pool usage and related pool maintenance activities. The incumbent will also coordinate all aquatics programs and ensure the safety of all pool users and staff. Supervision is received from a school administrator with leeway allowed for carrying out the duties of the position.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

• Coordinates aquatic programs for all pool utilization;
• Ensures full compliance with the Pool Safety Plan and the Emergency Action Plan and updates plans as appropriate;
• Evaluates appropriate rules and regulations governing pool safety and conduct at pool-related events;
• Ensures safe and sanitary conditions in entire pool area, including mechanical components, in accordance with local and state sanitary codes;
• Completes and submits applicable reports and data to the appropriate regulatory agencies;
• Does related duties as required;

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS College with an Associate's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Recreation or a closely related field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: (AT TIME OF APPOINTMENT)

Certification in CPR, AED, CPP, WS1, First Aid Instruction and lifeguard training.
